Studio27 owner, Cheryl Harris, is a multi-talented performer and also a gifted teacher, instructing both children and adults in singing, acting, performance, creative movement and improvisation. 

Working with agents, producers, choreographers all around the country and internationally, Cheryl has helped develop, manage, cast, and place talent into the entertainment industry. 

Cheryl is also an international vocal coach with talent that spans the globe. Her approach to vocal training is her unique development approach that includes: proper breathing techniques and knowing your airflow as well as how to manipulate your air, muscle technique that not only enhances your sound but expands your range and more with specific , individual technique. Each client has a unique sound and uses a slightly different approach to maximize their vocal quality as an artist and performer. Cheryl  individualizes her training technique to suit her clients needs and goals. 

Cheryl has successfully run Studio27, a talent development studio that has has catapulted her client's carreers in Music, TV/Film as well as the Fashion industry and has won "Best Talent Development School" for 6 years in a row which has Studio27 listed in the "Business Hall Of Fame" in her market.

Cheryl has personally assisted in the vocal careers of clients such as Jalen Harris (Lion King Broadway Tour) and Beth Spangler (The Voice) who have release their EP's which you can find on all media outlets like Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, etc. Some of her clients have also been on American Idol and are Grammy and Dove award winning artists.

DeReginald C. Lewis (Rege)

Instructor/Actor/Writer

DeReginald C. Lewis (Rege), is an accomplished award winning tv-film-stage actor/industry consultant, and the founder/creator of the Anti Bullying Team initiative and stage plays for elementary and middle schools.

Currently residing in Atlanta, GA, DeReginald is an advocate of the business side of show business and holds a degree in Business Administration, while currently pursuing his MBA. He is a graduate of the prestigious William Esper Conservatory having matriculated under the tutelage of the esteem, Bill Esper.

He is a long-time SAG-AFTRA member, with eminent credits that includes: two supporting role appearances at the Sundance Film Festival for Monster and The Official White House film of 2013: The Inevitable defeat of Mister & Pete, Guest Star - Chicago PD, Booth(u/s) in Suzan-Lori Parks Pulitzer Prize winning play - TopDog/UnderDog(George C. Wolfe), and originated the lead role in Carson Kreitzer’s - 1:23(Mark Wing-Davey). Other notable appearances include: House of Cards, and Blue Bloods.

In 2011, he earned a breakout recurring role on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, where they won a Golden Globe Award for Best Television Drama Series, and a SAG-AFTRA Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. (2011)

In addition to acting and academic endeavors, DeReginald consultants with aspiring actors, having helped launch acting careers, bookings, legit representation, and assisting with pathways to performing art schools. His passion for helping others and working with children inspired and sparked the idea for his Anti Bullying Team initiative and stage plays sponsored by theREGELEWISbrand.

As an original MBK board member and Augusta native, DeReginald aims to lend his acts of philanthropy and use his platform to enlighten and empower others. Sekou Laidlow

Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Sekou Laidlow is an exceptional actor who loves his craft. Trained at the famed Julliard School in New York City, Mr. Laidlow made his Broadway debut in the New Orleans centered play, Airline Highway, directed by two-time Tony Award Winner, Joe Montello. A graduate of the Julliard’s Drama Division, Mr. Laidlow has collaborated with fellow Juilliard alumnus and Director, Michael Urie, in the ensemble comedic web-series, What’s Your Emergency, written by Ryan Spahn and Halley Feiffer. He also played Homer in the Pulitzer and Kennedy prize winning productions of Suzan Lori Parks' Father Comes Home from the Wars, which is a co-production between the New York Public Theater and the American Reparatory Theatre at Harvard University. In October 2015, he performed as a guest artist in Julliard’s production of Seven Guitars as the character, Hedley. Sekou is signed to one of the most prestigious talent agencies in Atlanta.

 Mr. Laidlow is playing the recurring role of Walter Camp in the highly anticipated series, The Breaks, now airing on BET. He is also appeared in the romantic comedy, Better Off Single, starring Aaron Tveit and Kal Pen, released in theaters nationwide in October 2016. Mr. Laidlow recently guest starred as Josiah Banner in the acclaimed CBS dramatic series, The Good Wife. He was also a supporting lead in The Mend, playing the role of Pierce, opposite Josh Lucas and Austin Pendleton.

Julia Harris

Office Manager/Actor/Model/Make-up Artist/Stylist

Growing up with a passion to entertain, Julia was exposed to the entertainment industry early on. Not only did she spend some time in front of the camera but she found even more of a passion behind the camera. Julia's interest began to spread out into writing, fashion and make-up after traveling to Europe with our team of talent.

Julia has been developing her craft  as an actor as well as developing young actors and models, working on video and photoshoots as a make-up artist and clothing stylist.  Julia assists our staff in preparing our clients for a national platform or just getting them started on the path to success. She, too has agent representation in ATL and has booked some projects including most recently a Texas Pete commercial.

Julia has founded The Pedestrian Project, an online magazine which is a creative project for recognizing and celebrating people. She is a firm believer that “When you’re empowered, you empower others.”


Derek Evans HS

Derek Evans

Instructor/Actor/Filmmaker

Derek Evans started his career by garnering a BFA in Acting from NKU in 2013, where he also studied screenwriting and directing.  After graduating he toured with The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati as an Actor for a year before moving to Atlanta and signing with Houghton Talent. With several theatre, film, and Television credits under his belt, he decided to produce his first feature length film and by the end of 2016 will have completed, "The King of Bloody Fookin' Britain," written and directed by himself. In the film he worked with over 80 actors from LA to NY, on a 60 day shoot. He plans on touring the festival circuit with it, once completed.

DeShon Green

Instructor/Actor


DeShon Green is an Atlanta native, who from a very young age developed a love for entertainment. She is a graduate from Kennesaw State University (Cum Laude), where she studied both Theatre and Film. It was there that she fostered an understanding for different styles of acting and techniques (Meisner, Stanislavski, Clowning, Stage Combat, etc.). DeShon believes that acting is an art that can be used to shape a better society by allowing its spectators to experience the stories of other human beings, who may or may not look like them. DeShon is a working actress who says she is “always learning from her experiences, her peers, and her characters.” She has experience performing professionally on stage and behind the camera, and desires to share the knowledge afforded to her with others.

Ford Smith

Instructor/Actor/Improviser

Ford is an actor, writer, and comedian that has been working professionally since 2007. He focuses on character depth and relationships that characters have with each other. “I feel that two of the most important questions are, ‘At your core, who are you?’ and, ‘Who, beyond the surface of titles, are you talking to?’ I feel that these are the foundations that bring scenes and characters to life.”

After studying theatre at Anderson University, Ford continued to study improvisation and acting at various places such as iOWest and Studio 4 to name a few. During this time, he would perform stand-up at The Comedy Store and other comedy clubs around Los Angeles. He also has vocal training with George Fridlender as his vocal coach.

Ford Smith has recently moved to Atlanta, GA, and he is looking to produce some of his own projects as well as continue to work in the industry he passionately loves.

Dr. DChristy Eves

Instructor/Director/Writer


Dr. Christy Eves, PhD has been in theatre for 24 years; first as an actor and later as a director.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a concentration in Acting from Florida A&M University, studied Acting in the Masters of Fine Arts program at Southern Methodist University and ultimately received her Doctorate in Theatre Scholarship & Directing from Wayne State University in her home town of Detroit, MI. She directed several well-reviewed plays at WSU including Pearl Cleage’s Hospice, and August Strindberg’s Miss Julie.  She served as the Associate Director of the Black Theatre Program at WSU and directed Wole Soyinka’s Pantomime, and A Woman Called Truth for the BTP.  She was also the recipient of the Rumble Fellowship in theatre. Dr. Eves is the Assistant Professor of Theatre and Program Coordinator for Speech and Theatre at Atlanta Metropolitan State College.  Her directing credits from AMSC include for colored girls who have considered suicide when the rainbow is enuf, Ptomaine Poison, Blues for an Alabama Sky, Ashes of Light, Antigone in New York, The Contract, Chain, and Paula Vogel’s How I Learned to Drive. She has also directed Chain as a part of The West End Art Walk 2017, and The Family Learning Solutions & Assata Williams’ production of Chain in Washington DC.

Evan Bergman

Actor/Instructor

Evan is a new transplant to Atlanta having recently completed his MFA in Acting from University of Virginia. Represented by a top Atlanta talent agency, Evan most recently booked a hilarious pilot for Adult Swim. He’s currently in the independent feature film, Huckleberry, which is premiering around the US in the festival circuit.

With a background in theatre, Evan is a proud member of Equity and has acted on stages in NYC and regionally. While in NYC, he trained at the renowned Maggie Flanigan Studio completing the 2yr Meisner conservatory program. Evan has taught acting at University of Virginia, Ohio University, Transylvania University, and University of Kentucky.

Most recently Evan was accepted into SITI Company’s 2018 Summer Intensive where he was able to delve into Viewpoints, Suzuki, and Composition work. He firmly believes to be an effective teacher of acting he must continue to be a student of acting.

Anna Giles

Instructor/Actor/Writer/Producer

As soon as Anna Giles graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2009 with her degree in Theatre/Writing ( Magna cum laude), she set off for the West Coast! She has been working professionally in theatre and film ever since. Her resume includes spec commercials for Korean energy drinks, feature films with Courtney Stodden, and writing scripts for the likes of Delta here in Atlanta.  

Anna got her start in film acting opposite  Games of Thrones'  Aidan Gillen in the independent feature film  Scrapper . Since then, she has started her own film production company with her husband, writer/director/producer Mike Jones, called Tiny Park Productions, and become Head of Production for Grinning Man Films East in Atlanta, as well as co-produced the indie horror film 7 Witches and the dramatic thriller The Great Outdoors. She is a writer, producer, teacher, and actress who has taken part in over 20 theatrical, film, and commercial productions, and has cast actors on both coasts. Anna is on two improv teams that regularly perform at Village Theatre and Dad's Garage in Atlanta, and trained at Groundlings in Los Angeles and Jet City Improv in Seattle. She is happy to be back in Atlanta, working with the awesome, growing talent in the South.

Kate Leek

Instructor/Actor/Model/Singer/Dancer

Kate has been working in the industry for 15 years. She has trained in NY and LA to become a quadruple threat having worked in the areas of Acting, Singing, Commercial Modeling and Dance. She has had the good fortune of working with Nick Cannon, Jimmy Kimmel and Lil Romeo in various Film/Television projects. She has performed vocally with artists Sting and Natalie Cole.  Kate has a strong Dance background as well having danced at the company level for four years with the Georgia Christian Dance Theatre.  She has also performed locally on stage at Dads Garage Theater in Atlanta. Kate, who is SAG-eligible, is currently appearing in a series of advertisements for Spotify, television shows such as Your Worst Nightmare, Killer Couples, and also on Mercy Street, a PBS miniseries produces by Ridley Scott. Coaching actors in this industry and helping them to realize their potential is her absolute passion.
